88.5 KRFY Begins Underwriting Campaign

88.5 KRFY has begun an underwriting campaign in the north Idaho business community. Underwriting is when a business, organization, or individual contributes money or services to 88.5 KRFY Panhandle Community Radio and receives on-air acknowledgements for the support.

According to FCC guidelines, "noncommercial educational stations may acknowledge contributions over the air, but they may not broadcast commercials or otherwise promote the goods and services of for-profit donors or underwriters."

KRFY is offering an underwriting package that is simple and straightforward. For more information, please call (208) 265-2992. If no one is in the office, leave a message and a KRFY representative will be back in touch with you.

Tingstad and Rumbel at the Panida Theatre

On Friday afternoon, January 20, the studio at KRFY came alive with the sounds of Tingstad and Rumbel. Nancy Rumbel and Eric Tingstad were in Sandpoint for a benefit concert for the Sandpoint Waldorf School on Saturday evening at the Panida Theatre. Tingstand and Rumbel, a Grammy Award Winning duo for Guitar and Woodwinds, played two songs "live" in the studio during the interview. In the interview the duo talked about their collaboration for over twenty-five years, their individual music interests, and their composing process. Many thanks to Jeff Poole for producing the interview and live performances.

KRFY Internet Stream Temporarily Being Disabled

We at KRFY regret the need to turn off the internet stream as of January 14, 2012. There will be a brief interruption in our broadcast to accomplish this. We are forced to temporarily turn the stream off because the required reporting is beyond our technical capabilities at this time, and content regulations differ from on-air regulations. We will restart the internet stream as soon as possible! Thank you for supporting your community radio!

KRFY Needs Your Help!

88.5 KRFY, community supported radio for North Idaho, is in danger of going off the air. Thanks to many dedicated members of the community we have guaranteed means to stay on-air until March of 2012. The station's financial expenses are $1500 per month. This is a bottom-line figure and only keeps KRFY on the air. It does not include future growth or equipment needs. Your financial support is necessary to prevent the station from going off the air on April 1, 2012. If you would like to make a donation, please click donate now, or send your check to KRFY, PO Box 2465 Sandpoint, ID 83864. Thank you for your support in keeping KRFY on the air!
