Interview Monday Morning with Lake Pend Oreille Waterkeeper


Monday, November 12, at 9 AM, Jim Healey had in-studio guests Shannon Williamson (Executive Director) and Daivd Hussey (Secretary) of the Lake Pend Oreille Waterkeeper organization. They discussed upcoming films and presentation the group is sponsoring later this week. On Thursday evening at the Grainery Warehouse facility there will an event, Coal Crossroads, for raising awareness concerning the group’s stand against the planned shipment of coal strip-mined in Montana and Wyoming through along and over the waters of Lake Pend Oreille on route to shipping centers on the coast. There will be the showing of the film “Coal Crossroads,” refreshments, an arts and crafts display and discussion. This is  a no-charge event.

On Saturday, November 17 at 7 PM the group will present the film “Last Call at the Oasis,” to raise awareness of the Earth’s threatened fresh water supply in the coming century. This is a no-charge event..

KRFY holiday spectacular live variety show

Celebrate the holidays. KRFY’s live radio show celebrating Christmas and the holidays is coming Friday, Dec 5, 7-9 p.m. at the Panida Theater. This variety show with all-local music, Christmas readings, skits and good humor has grown each year. You can tune in to 88.5 KRFY to hear the live broadcast – but even better, come share the warm holiday spirt and attend at the Panida. A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected.
