Mid-November a cornucopia of news, views and happenings

On Monday, November 16, KRFY broadcaster Suzy Prez hosted a special interview with Sandpoint activists Gary Payton and Jean Gerth for a talk about climate change and environment. Payton is attending the United Nations Climate Summit in Paris at the end of the month, joining an expected 50,000 others from around the globe.

On Tuesday, November 17, you are invited to tune in for the KRFY Morning Show with hosts Suzy Prez and Chris Bessler.  Their guest will be Sandy Compton, program director of Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness. Be informed and inspired with local news and information. That’s at 8:00 a.m. on 88.5  KRFY, listener supported community radio for north Idaho.

On Thursday, November 19, join  host Jack Peterson for the Thursday edition of the KRFY Morning Show.  That’s at  8:00 a.m. on 88.5 KRFY, listener supported community radio for north Idaho.

Sandpoint Reader Fundraiser ShowOn Friday, November 20, tune in at 8 p.m for the Local Show, featuring a musical interview with local musicians from Harold’s IGA, Mama Doll, and others who will be performing at the upcoming Sandpoint Reader fundraiser show Saturday, November 21, at the Panida Theater.

KRFY holiday spectacular live variety show

Celebrate the holidays. KRFY’s live radio show celebrating Christmas and the holidays is coming Friday, Dec 5, 7-9 p.m. at the Panida Theater. This variety show with all-local music, Christmas readings, skits and good humor has grown each year. You can tune in to 88.5 KRFY to hear the live broadcast – but even better, come share the warm holiday spirt and attend at the Panida. A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
