Environment, Refugees Top Upcoming Morning Show Interviews

Thursday, January 14th: Tune into 88.5 KRFY for the Thursday edition of the Morning Show with host Jack Peterson.  His guest will be Sandy Compton from the Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness organization. That’s at 8:00 a.m. on 88.5 FM, KRFY, listener supported community radio for north Idaho.

Coming Tuesday, January 19: The KRFY Morning Show delves into the most contentious of current local issues, with Sandpoint Mayor Shelby Rognstad and Bonner County Commissioner Glen Bailey in the studio for a discussion of the city and county resolutions on refugee resettlement. Airtime is at 8 a.m., at 88.5 FM. SOS forum recording

A “Save Our Schools” town hall was held Sept 12 at the Ponderay Events Center, and was recorded and broadcast by KRFY the following day. A capacity crowd heard discussion by a local panel on the impact on public schools of the Parental Choice Tax Credit, aka House Bill 93, that was approved by the Idaho Legislature to provide $50 million in funding to families who educate their children in private schools.  Did you miss the forum? A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected.
