Between The Notes Interview with Singer/Songwriter Kevin Brown from Spokane, WA

Join us Tuesday, October 9th at 8 pm on 88.5 KRFY for another edition of “Between the Notes”.

This week’s guest is singer-songwriter Kevin Brown. Kevin lives in Spokane, Washington and has been playing music and, sing and writing songs for over 20 years. He is well known in the Inland Northwest as the host of Front Porch Bluegrass on Spokane Public Radio KPBX and the music director for the Blue Waters Bluegrass Festival each August. Kevin’s music is rapidly gaining attention in the northwest and nationally as his newest CD The Beloved Country hits the airwaves. His first CD The Country Primaries was reviewed as “easily one of the best debut albums of 2010 — his songwriting skills are unmatched among the new breed of singer-songwriters to emerge over the past few years.”  — Adam Sheets, No Depression. In addition to Kevin’s solo career as a singer-songwriter he is a member of the popular Spokane bluegrass band Big Red Barn.

More information about Kevin Brown and his music can be found at:  www.brownknows.com.

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
