OCTOBER 16 – 25, 88.5 KRFY communty radio is hosting an on-line auction.  Please visit the Bidding for Good auction site at www.biddingforgood.com/krfy or www/krfy/org. Many of our local businesses and individuals have donated an amazing array of interesting and exciting auction items for you to view and bid upon. Here are some of the items up for auction: Caribbean vacations, Seattle Seahawk tickets, sailing adventures, books, dinners, massages, Wild Honey concert, and the list goes on. Bidding begins Thursday evening, so please help support our north Idaho community radio.

OCTOBER 21, join the 88.5 KRFY crew at the Idaho Pour Authority, 203 Cedar St., Sandpoint, ID on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m., for a fun-filled evening of music by Truck Mills, with representatives from our featured brewery, Iron Horse Brewery from Ellensburg, Washington. Tuesday, October 13  – 
You are invited to tune into the Tuesday edition of the KRFY Morning Show with host Suzy Prez. Morning Show  guests will be Michael Bauer, coordinator of the Lifelong Learning Center at the East Bonner Public Library, along with volunteer tutor Gail Colegrove. That’s at 8:00 a.m. at 88.5  KRFY, listener supported community radio for north Idaho.

Thursday, October 15 –  Please join KRFY Morning Show hosts Jim Healey and Jack Peterson. Their guest will be Lissa DeFreitas from the Bonner General Health Community Hospice in to talk about the upcoming Hospice Rose Fundraiser. Tune in at 8:00 a.m. at 88.5 KRFY, listener supported community radio for north Idaho.

 

Friday, October 16, at 8 a.m EXTRA INTERVIEW – Please join KRFY broadcaster Suzy Prez and her guests, musicians Barbara Jean and Jack Klatt, who will be sharing stories about their life as musicians on the road and their songwriting journey. They will also give a “live, in-studio” mini-concert of their original tunes. That is at 8 a.m on 88.5 KRFY, listener supported community radio.

For KRFY’s Local Decision ’26, each Wednesday we have aired interviews with all candidates for contested Bonner County and District 1 legislative offices in the upcoming May 19 primary. Only Republican races are contested. Click to hear the recorded interviews:

Idaho State Senate:

In addition to these contested races, there are three ballot measures, for voters who live within the Northside and Westside fire districts, and the Lakeland School District, as well as 20 contested races for Republican precinct committeemen. A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
