Long Bridge Swim

The Long Bridge Swim is The Premier Open-Water Swimming Event in the Pacific Northwest! This 1.76 mile swim offers the best spectator viewing of any open water swim that we know of, following the path of the Pedestrian Long Bridge and the Bike Path the entire way. Open to all levels of swimming ability, the thousands of swimmers who have completed this event range in age from 6 to 87 years old, and from weekend splashers to Olympic qualifiers. Many people have set this swim as a goal, and then practiced and gotten in better physical condition, lost weight, and had a great time while training for success. “Take the Challenge. Take the Plunge!” Hundreds of other swimmers, and thousands of spectators participated in this year’s Long Bridge Swim! More information is found at Longbridgeswim.org

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
