Panhandle Community Radio Celebrates Earth Day on Planet Bonner

This morning on KRFY 88.5 FM, at 9:00 A.M., Ken Casler conducted a short interview covering today’s scheduled Earth Day events in Bonner County. Guests included: Nancy Dooley, Idaho Conservation League,  promoting tonight’s showing of the acclaimed movie “Chasing Ice” screening at the Panida Theater (doors opening at 6 PM, film starts at 7 P.M.); Brietta Leader, dance director, told us about the free music and dance performance, “For the Love of Water,” happening this evening at the City Beach Pavilion at 5:30PM, with a community potluck meal following the presentation.

KRFY Little Live Radio Hour with Little Wolf band

KRFY’s Little Live Radio Hour 2026 season kicks off in an all-new venue: The Hive! Coming up Tuesday, February 17, stellar local musicians Justin Landis and Josh Hedlund, aka Little Wolf, will play. Listen live on air at 88.5 FM or streaming right here starting at 7 p.m. – or better yet come catch it in person at The Hive, our town’s state-of-the-art music hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. and everyone’s invited to come early for some socializing. The Little Live Radio Hour is produced in partnership with The Hive and the Festival at Sandpoint.

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
