Third Week of November: Interviews with Community Enriching Organizations

Monday, November 18th at 9:00 am: Suzy Prez was joined in the KRFY studio by Alice Wallace from the Bonner Community Food Center. The interview  centered around the Food Center’s Thanksgiving food needs and hunger issues in our community.

Wednesday, November 20th at 9:00 am: Suzy Prez will be interviewing Tamie Martenson from Transitions In Process, a program offered by the Bonner County Homeless Task Force. This week is Homeless Awareness Week in the USA.

Friday, November 22nd at 9:00 am: Join KRFY broadcaster Suzy Prez and Mike Bauer from the University of Idaho Extention Service. Mike will be talking about some new programs at the facility as well as ones that are being developed to give us an overview of the services offered here in Bonner County at the Extention Service facility..

On the air TONIGHT!

Tune in at 5:30 p.m. tonight, Sept 12, to hear a recording of the “Save Our Schools” town hall held last night at the Ponderay Events Center. A capacity crowd heard discussion by a local panel on the impact on public schools of the Parental Choice Tax Credit, aka House Bill 93, that was approved this year by the Idaho Legislature. It will  provide $50 million in funding for families who choose to educate their children in private schools. A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
