Guests In-Studio Mid-August’s Morning Show

The KRFY Morning Show host, Jim, Jack, Chris and Suzy invite you to tune in each Tuesday and Thursday at 8:00.  Enjoy interviews, news and views that will inform and inspire you.

Tuesday, August 12th on the KRFY Morning Show, it’s another edition of Garden Talk with guest gardeners Emily Levine from Red Wheel Barrel Farms and Pat Wentworth, coordinator of the Community Garden.  Let’s hear what ideas and tips for gardening in north Idaho during the month of August.  Tune in at 88.5 at 8:00 am.

Extra interview on Tuesday at 9:00 with Sally Dennison and artist friends in to talk about the upcoming Artists Studio Tour.

Thursday, August 14th, it’s hosts Jim and Jack on the KRFY Morning Show.  Their guests will be Reg Crawford and Tom Whalen from Trout Unlimited.  We will hear about this organizations work, mission and upcoming events.

Tune in at 88.5 at 8:00 am.

Our guest DJ returns!

Actor and filmmaker Viggo Mortensen is returning for another turn at the live microphone as a guest DJ this Thursday, Oct. 2, right here on KRFY. Viggo is a part-time local resident and a longtime supporter of independent radio. Tune in to 88.5 FM or stream it to hear his musical picks and commentary, live 1-3 p.m. If you miss the live show, it will be rebroadcast on air and streaming, 7-9 p.m. that evening.

SOS forum recording

A “Save Our Schools” town hall was held Sept 12 at the Ponderay Events Center, and was recorded and broadcast by KRFY the following day. A capacity crowd heard discussion by a local panel on the impact on public schools of the Parental Choice Tax Credit, aka House Bill 93, that was approved by the Idaho Legislature to provide $50 million in funding to families who educate their children in private schools.  Did you miss the forum? A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
