Morning Show topics span community

In the seek ahead on the Morning Show, programs will feature interviews and talk about special needs, hiking, dogs ‘n’ cats and county health … and more. Here’s what is on tap for the second week in October:

KRFY Morning ShowTuesday, October 10: Join Morning Show hosts Julie Kallemeyn and Phil Hough. Their first guest will be Trinity Nicholson from Panhandle Special Needs. A second guest will be Bob Turner with the American Long Distance Hiking Association – West. That’s at 8 a.m here on 88.5 KRFY.

Wednesday, October 11: Morning Show hosts Chris Bessler and Suzy Prez will talk with Johnelle Fifer from Understory Coffee, organizer of the upcoming Doggy Costume Contest benefiting the Panhandle Animal Shelter. Airtime is 8 a.m at 88.5, KRFY community radio.

Thursday, October 12: Join Morning Show hosts Jim Healey and Jack Peterson. Their guest will be Nanci Jenkins, a dietician with Panhandle Health District, to talk about the upcoming fundraiser for the Bonner County Coalition For Health fundraiser, Change for Change. That’s at 8 a.m., right here on 88.5 KRFY. Tune in by radio, or listen live via the Internet!

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
