April arrives with Morning Show talks on media and art

KRFYmoringShowArtSMOn the Tuesday, March 31, the KRFY Morning Show talk turned to media matters, with host Chris Bessler interviewing Jim McKiernan, new publisher of the Bonner County Daily Bee, plus at the bottom of the hour, the Sandpoint Reader‘s new editor Cameron Rasmusson, took the mic to talk about the new weekly’s take on community journalism.

Coming on Thursday, April 2, join KRFY Morning Show hosts Jim Healey and Diane Newcomer. Their guest will be Scott Kirby, world renown pianist and ragtime interpreter, who is be performing a benefit concert for the Panhandle Animal Shelter on April 9 at the Panida Theater. Tune in Thursday at 8:00 A.M. on 88.5 KRFY.

Josh Hedlund & Friends take the mic

Singer-songwriter Josh HedlundLocal singer-songwriter Josh Hedlund, joined by friends Jen and Justin Landis, took to the mic for live music and talk on Tuesday’s Local Music Show with Suzy Prez. The show was a prelude for the Live @ the Office performance that Josh will give Thursday, March 26, at the Sandpoint Reader office, 111 Cedar Street, 6 p.m. It’s a close-up, intimate concert and can sell out quick; reserve a spot by calling the Reader, 208-265-9724. Save the date for KRFY's Little Live Radio Hour in 2026

Our series of Little Live Radio Hour live concerts that we broadcast the third Tuesday of each month kicks off in 2026 on Tuesday, February 17. A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
