This afternoon’s phone bank crew included: Patirce Webb (let), Jacque Knechtges (center), and Jean Cecil (left). They were invaluable at responding to the phone-in pledges and new underwriters calling the station.
The fund raising lineup continued into Friday afternoon, live on-air, with the following interviews and performers:
Rich Del Carlo came in at 1:00 PM for an interview with Jim Healey concerning the rites of Spring: birds and trees. The cool conversation turned to music and the special opportunity we share having our own community radio in north Idaho.
Special guest interviewer, Shelley Allen, talked and listened to local performer, Truck Mills starting at 1:30 PM, playing ukulele, bağlama ( a stringed instrument from the near/far Eastern and Mediterranean lands), and guitar, live in the Mocha Room for the first hour. During the second hour they were joined by Ken Lababerra, a talented musician/singer/song writer, to combine their unique musical stylings and instruments to treat our listeners to a rollicking good time while they contemplated the exact amount to donate during our pledge drive.
Steve Holt from the Eureka Institute paid a visit with Jim Healey in the studio at 3:30 PM to discuss upcoming happenings and educational events scheduled at his facilities in Sandpoint — Eureka Institute, West, (in the Grainery District complex), and at the Camp Eureka (out near Gamblin Lake on the Garfield Bay Penninsula).
At 4:00 PM, Jim was joined in the Mocha Room by special guest, Doug Bond, local performer and song writer with his own special contribution of a live performance that closed this day’s line-up in the KRFY studios.
