Peek at News and Views from the Peak

Suzy Prez has a bonus interview with a member of the Friends of Scotchman Peak Wilderness project in the studio on Wednesday morning at 10 AM. Join us to hear an update on the status of the group’s wilderness designation proposal (there are some exciting things going on) and announcement of an upcoming event this weekend, Friday May 31, at the Eureka West facility (220 N. 6th in the Old Granary District). At the event on Friday there will be a presentation by Whitney “Allgood” LaRuffa, on hiking with dogs, as well as recognition of honored volunteers (name the Old Goat, their volunteer of the year)..

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
