Visiting guests on 88.5 KRFY, Thursday, August 9, at 9:00 AM

Camile McKitrick, seed librarian at the East Bonner County Library in Sandpoint, talked about the Seed Library, a growing phenomenon across the country for the past couple of years. The library will host a range of seeds for natural, local plants that patrons can “check out” at the beginning of each year to plant and grow in their personal gardens. At the end of the growing season, the patrons will gather a few seeds from their plants and return them to the library to continue the cycle..

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
