Upcoming Guests on 88.5 KRFY, June 26 – 29

Tuesday, June 26, a little after 9:00 am: Suzy Prez, local musician and member of Wild Honey, will stop by the station to talk about the upcoming KRFY benefit performance at the Green Door at Garfield Bay on Sunday, July 1, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Wednesday, June 27, a little after 9:00 am: Deborah McShane, director, and Teresa Pesce, producer, of Sandpoint Onstage’s production of The Music Man will stop by to talk about the performances at the Panida Theater on June 29-30, July 6-7, July 8 (matinee), and July 13-14. Joining them will be Ben Thompson, Kate Fox, Kate McAlister, and Spencer Thompson, cast members of the production.

Thursday, June 28, a little after 9:00 am: Kim Woodruff, head of Sandpoint Parks and Recreation, will talk about the 25th World Harmony Run coming to Sandpoint on this Thursday, June 28, at 4:30 pm at the gazebo in City Beach Park.

Thursday, June 28, a little after 10:00 am: Beth Bollinger, author, will talk about her book Until the End of the Ninth, a novel about the 1946 Spokane Indians baseball team.

Friday, June 29, a little after 9:00 am: Larry Alford and Suzy Prez, two members of KRFY’s program committee, will preview the new 13-week program schedule that begins on July 1 and runs through September 30.

Friday, June 29, a little after 10:00 am: Megan Olson, organizer of Haden’s Heart 5k Fun Run on July 4 in Clark Fork, Idaho, will revisit KRFY to talk about the event and will encourage community members to sign up for the run. The money raised will go towards scholarships for students in Haden’s class..

Recent Guests on 88.5 KRFY

Tammy Shivel, Special Olympic athlete, and Martina Couldry, local coordinate and coach, stopped by KRFY’s studio to talk about the Special Olympics in Boise on June 22-24. They also talked about their fund-raising efforts through a car wash and yard sale.

Shannon Williamson, executive director of Lake Pend Oreille Waterkeeper, Jace Bylenga, outreach coordinator, and Brita Olson, summer intern, talked about the Lake Pend Oreille Waterkeeper organization, its mission, and its summertime projects. Volunteers are needed for a four-month long water sampling project.

Bill Collier, project manager for “Charlie” the helicopter and secretary of the Sandpoint Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America, talked about the helicopter project and the support system for veterans in the Idaho panhandle.

KRFY Little Live Radio Hour with Little Wolf band

KRFY’s Little Live Radio Hour 2026 season kicks off in an all-new venue: The Hive! Coming up Tuesday, February 17, stellar local musicians Justin Landis and Josh Hedlund, aka Little Wolf, will play. Listen live on air at 88.5 FM or streaming right here starting at 7 p.m. – or better yet come catch it in person at The Hive, our town’s state-of-the-art music hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. and everyone’s invited to come early for some socializing. The Little Live Radio Hour is produced in partnership with The Hive and the Festival at Sandpoint.

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
