Lauren Pelon, musician and performer, joins Lonesome Jack via telephone to talk about The Living Roots of Music, her presentation and performance of ancient and modern music from around the world coming up at the Library on March 12th. Then, Jackie Rucker and Lisa Crabb are live in the studio to spread the word about SHS Grad Night 2017 and the upcoming Dinner/Auction Fundraiser on March 10th.

March 8, 2017 LPOSD Interview – Levy

The Wednesday edition of the KRFY Morning Show was focused on the upcoming Lake Pend Oreille School District 84 Levy set for a vote on March 14. Host Suzy Prez sat down with school district superintendent Shawn Woodward and district chief financial officer Lisa Hals to discuss the levy and help inform the voters.

Morning Show hosts Julie Kallemeyn and Suzy Prez are joined by 3 local farmers to discuss their experiences in local sustainable agriculture. Our guests were Guernsey cow dairy farmer Paul Herndon of Pleasant Meadow Creamery, Certified Organic CSA farmer and seed producer Pat VanVolkinburg along with her farm manager Tanner Williams of Bountiful Organics, and Certified Organic CSA farmer and educator Diane Green of Greentree Naturals.

March 2, 2017: Once Upon a Mattress/ Follies

Once Upon A Mattress is coming to the Panida Theater, produced locally by Growing Dreams Productions and featuring a young cast of local actors. Assistant Director Natalie Aller joins Jim and Jack along with cast members Sahara Chalupny, Bob Stevens, Renee York, Mikayla Schoening and Hope Ambridge. Then, Kate McAllister, Andrew Sorg, Eric Bond and Dan Simons get chatty about the Angels over Sandpoint and their annual Follies fundraiser and performance.

Join hosts Julie Kallemeyn and Phil Hough as we talk with Lake Pend Oreille of Idaho fishing club board members James Mullen and Dave Ivy along with Idaho Fish and Game Warden Tom Whalen who is also a Bull Trout specialist. We discuss the fishery's history, efforts to re-establish a world class Rainbow Trout, Kokanee and possibly Bull Trout fishery as well as the current fishing quality and ongoing management practices.

Discussion focused on the upcoming Chafe 150 fundraiser in support of autism services in local schools.
