Upcoming Guests on 88.5 KRFY, August 22 – 24



The following guests will be coming to 88.5 KRFY from Wednesday, August 22, through Friday, August 24.  Tune in and tell a friend! Hear about the many good things that individuals and organizations are doing to improve the quality of life for all people in north Idaho.

Wednesday, August 22, at 9:00 am: Diane Dennis from Panhandle Special Needs will talk about the services that are provided and upcoming events.

Thursday, August 23, at 9:00 am: Kim Queen, executive director of Pend Oreille Arts Council, will talk about the 35th Annual ArtWalk that runs through September 7 and the encore reception to be held on Friday, August 24.

Friday, August 24, at 9:00 am: Michael Bigley, Latin teacher and scholar, and Karin Wedemeyer, executive director of the Music Conservatory of Sandpoint, will talk about the conservatory’s Latin program, originally designed for singers but now including language comprehension..

Candidate forums coming up. Two candidates forums are coming at the Sandpoint High auditorium. On Monday, May 4, candidates for District 1 Idaho Legislature will take the stage; on Tuesday, May 5, candidates for Bonner County offices. Forums will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Presented by KRFY with co-sponsors Sandpoint Reader, Daily Bee, Sandpoint Online and the Selkirk Association of Realtors. Attend in person, or tune each night for the live KRFY broadcasts at 88.5 FM or right here, streaming at KRFY.org.

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
