KRFY now Back On the Air after Short Silence

As of Wednesday, July 17, KRFY resolved the technical issue of a mechanical failure to the point where we are once again broadcasting over the air waves. The problem occurred with an amplifier at the leased transmitter station in Ponderay. We still have some equipment concerns to address, but our community radio is once again being heard in the Bonner County vicinity.

All of the volunteers at KRFY appreciate the patience and concern that our listeners expressed during our brief, 3-day silence. We are determined to keep this vital resource operating, especially when we see this recent expression of loss from our listening public. Thank you for listening and allowing us to inform and entertain all of you..

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
