‘Tis a varied week ahead on the Morning Show

Our lake and stream fisheries, the Forrest M. Bird Charter School and Kinderhaven, and a concert to commemorate the remarkable of musician Charley Packard. Here is what’s coming up this week on the KRFY Morning Show:

KRFYmorningShowTypeHorzGraphicTuesday, August 1: Join the Morning Show hosts Julie Kallemeyn and Phil Hough and their guests, Don Childress, Ron Mamajek, and Dillon Given from Panhandle Trout Unlimited for a talk on fish and fisheries. That’s at 8 a.m. here on 88.5 KRFY Panhandle Community Radio.

Wednesday, August 2: The topic is education as hosts Chris Bessler and Suzy Prez talk with a trio from the Forrest M. Bird Charter School, including board Chairman Jim Zuberbuhler, Education Leader Jennifer Greve and Principal Mary Jensen. Airtime is 8 a.m. here on 88.5 KRFY.

Wednesday bonus: At 9:05 a.m., host Suzy Prez will continue the morning talk with Kinderhaven representatives Kat Chambers, Ron DeNova and Jen Plummer; they’ll to talk about Kinderhaven and its upcoming fundraiser with CNBC financial contributor, Scott Nations.

Thursday, August 3: Join Morning Show hosts Jim Healey and Jack Peterson, and their guest Karen Bowers in to talk about the Charley Packard Memorial Tribute Concert, upcoming on August 9 during the Festival at Sandpoint. Tune in to hear about the many local musicians who will be playing – and also for a chance at tickets and CDs that they will be giving away tickets. That’s at 8 a.m on 88.5 KRFY.

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
