MONDAY, June 22: This month’s Community Character Hour features a deep dive into the particular histories of four individual steamboats that defined the age of steam on Lake Pend Oreille.

WEDNESDAY, June 24: City of Sandpoint Mayor Jeremy Grimm and Community Development Director Jason Welker are in the studio for an update on (among other things) the new Paid Parking program, a survey for redevelopment of City Beach RV Park and parking, a potential Local Option Tax, and the status of the wastewater treatment plant.

For KRFY’s Local Decision ’26, each Wednesday we have aired interviews with all candidates for contested Bonner County and District 1 legislative offices in the upcoming May 19 primary. Only Republican races are contested. Click to hear the recorded interviews:

Idaho State Senate:

In addition to these contested races, there are three ballot measures, for voters who live within the Northside and Westside fire districts, and the Lakeland School District, as well as 20 contested races for Republican precinct committeemen. A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
