November’s Benefit Concert for KRFY at Di Luna’s Announced

Doug and Kim Bond appearing at Di Luna’s Cafe

Keep your calendar open for another fund-raiser concert at Di Luna’s Cafe on Cedar Street in early November. Local performers Doug and Kim Bond headline with their energized and exciting mix of folk, rock, bluegrass, highlighted by blazing vocal solos and soulful harmonies.

Opening for the Bonds are the Wild Honey Band, a trio of fun ladies bringing their vocal and acoustic talents together as they redefine renditions of popular rock ballads.

This fund-raiser benefit for your panhandle community radio station, 88.5 FM, KFRY is scheduled for November 10th at 7:30 PM, with optional dinner beginning at 5:30 PM. Please call Di Luna’s in advance to make your separate dinner reservations..

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
