Thursday Morning Interview with the Bonner Community Food Bank Directors

Jennie Aus, assistant director (l), Jim Healey, KRFY Head of Board of Directors(c), Alice Wallace, executive director, Bonner Community Food Bank outside KRFY studios post-interview.

Jim Healey was in the studios this morning at 9AM to interview Alice Wallace, Executive Director, and Jennie Aus, Assistant Director, of our local Bonner Community Food Bank. They are celebrating 1 year in their new facility with an open house scheduled for November 9th, 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. The need for holiday meal items, including an estimated 1,000 turkeys (only 6 are currently at the food bank!) was a priority topic, as well as the operations and distribution systems that the facility offers the community in need..

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
