KRFY Morning ShowTuesday, August 8:  Join the Tuesday Morning Show hosts Phil Hough and Jo Anne Rohyans. Their guests will be various local artists who will be participating in the upcoming Artist Studio Tour. That’s at 8 a.m. here on 88.5 KRFY.

Wednesday, August 9: Join Morning Show hosts Chris Bessler and Suzy Prez. Their guest will be Chris Bassett, director of the Bonner Community Housing Agency. They will be taking a look at the status of affordable housing in our community. Airtime is 8 a.m., here on 88.5 KRFY.

Thursday, August 10: Join Morning Show hosts Jim Healey and Jack Peterson. Their guest will be John Rohyans, host of the newest locally produced show on KRFY, Jazz Over Sandpoint. Tune in at  8 a.m to 88.5 KRFY, Panhandle Community Radio.

Wednesday bonus: At 9:05 a.m., host Suzy Prez will continue the morning talk with Kinderhaven representatives Kat Chambers, Ron DeNova and Jen Plummer; they’ll to talk about Kinderhaven and its upcoming fundraiser with CNBC financial contributor, Scott Nations.

Thursday, August 3: Join Morning Show hosts Jim Healey and Jack Peterson, and their guest Karen Bowers in to talk about the Charley Packard Memorial Tribute Concert, upcoming on August 9 during the Festival at Sandpoint. Wednesday, July 26: Things are shakin’ at the library, or so hosts Chris Bessler and Suzy Prez expect as the talk with Mike Bauer, coordinator of adult education programs at the East Bonner County Library. Airtime is 8 a.m. here on 88.5 KRFY.

Thursday, July 27: It’s simply crazy, as hosts Jim Healey and Carrie Logan dive deep into a show “all about CRAZY DAYS,” the sidewalk sales event of the year in downtown Sandpoint. Word to the wise: Hit the streets early for the craziest deals. And KRFY itself will be there, with its first-ever KRFY CD Sale in front of the studio offices at 323 N. First Avenue. Coming this week on the Morning Show: Literary star, bears, history … and more

Here is what is coming up on the KRFY Morning Show for the week of July 17:

Tuesday, July 18: Join Morning Show hosts Julie Kallemeyn and Phil Hough and their guest Brian Johnson, wildlife officer with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. His talk will be “bear awareness” – a timely discussion after a bear attack at Priest Lake this spring, and with huckleberry season gearing up. Airtime is 8 a.m. at 88.5 KRFY Panhandle Community Radio.

Wednesday, July 19: Join Morning Show hosts Jack Peterson and Carrie Logan. Their guests will be folks from the Bonner Historical Society. That’s at 8 a.m here on 88.5 KRFY.

Wednesday bonus interview: At 9 a.m., join broadcaster Suzy Prez and her guests Karin Wedemeyer and Nichole Grimm, who will talk about a special collaboration between the Music Conservatory of Sandpoint and Uryadi’s Village, an orphanage in Ethiopia founded and supported by Sandpoint residents.

Marilynne RobinsonThursday, July 20: Join Morning Show hosts Suzy Prez and Chris Bessler to hear their interview with Marilynne Robinson, Sandpoint native and Pulitzer prize winning author, who is in town to lead a discussion at 7 p.m. that evening at the Panida Theater The event will help launch the Reclaim Idaho initiative to strengthen education, protect public lands and extend health care in Idaho. Marilynne will be joined by Luke Mayville, Reclaim Idaho organizer. Airtime is 8 a.m.

Kenneth ClokeWednesday, July 12: Morning Show hosts Suzy Prez and Chris Bessler will interview Kenneth Cloke, a Hope resident, international mediator and founder of Mediators Beyond Borders. Ken will talk about his upcoming free public presentation, “A Conversation About Conflict,” and how we can constructively deal with conflict in these divided times. His presentation is Thursday, July 13, 5:30 p.m. at the Columbia Bank community room; it is co-sponsored by KRFY, and all are invited. The society is at its 20-year anniversary in its mission to foster appreciation of the indigenous flora of North Idaho. Airtime is 8 a.m.

Downtown Sandpoint streets reversion mapWednesday, June 21: With the switch of Church Street on June 15, the big downtown Sandpoint streets switch-up to two-way traffic is complete – and that’s the topic as Morning Show hosts, Chris Bessler and Suzy Prez interview Public Works Director Ryan Luttmann and Police Chief Corey Coon for insights on the streets reversion. Morning Show closes out May with talk galore

Tune in this week for community discussions galore in upcoming KRFY Morning Show programs. Here’s the line up for the last week of May:

KRFY Morning ShowTuesday, May 30: Join 88.5 KRFY Morning Show hosts Phil Hough and Julie Kallemeyn. Their guests will be Lori Getts and Mary Haley, from Idaho Master Naturalists, who will talk about the Waterlife Discovery Center. That’s at 8 a.m. on 88.5 KRFY.

Wednesday, May 31: In a two-topic show, hosts Suzy Prez and Chris Bessler will first welcome Bay Trail Fun Run organizers Nancy Dooley and Emily Cleveland, who will tell about this upcoming June 11 fundraiser for the Pend d’Oreille Bay Trail. A second interview will be with Sherry Ennis, vice president of the Community Assistance League, who will talk about CAL and its upcoming June 3 fundraiser, Paws for a Cause. Airtime is 8 a.m. on 88.5 KRFY.

Thursday, June 1: Tune in to the Thursday edition of the KRFY Morning Show with hosts Jack Peterson and Jim Healey.  Their guest will be Heather Upton from the Bonner County Historical Society and Museum. That’s at 8 a.m. right here on 88.5 KRFY.
