Worthy Community Cancer Services Presentation and Fund Raiser Discussion

On  Monday morning, at 9:45 a.m., Jim Healey was in the studio to speak with Jessica Martin and Sherri Lies from the Community Cancer Services program based here in Sandpoint. This worthwhile program serves the cancer-affected/afflicted residents of Boundary and Bonner counties in north Idaho. The history and progress of the program was presented as well as an upcoming fund-raising event this weekend on Cinco de Mayo at 6:00 p.m. at the Trinity at City Beach Restaurant was discussed. A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
