Tribute Rebroadcast of Becky Kemery’s Presentation, “Shelter in the 21st Century”


Thursday, August 30, at 9:00 am: Becky Kemery, a longtime Sandpoint resident and national yurt expert, passed away on August 18. Her final creative contribution to the field of alternative architecture was produced three weeks before her death: an audio production entitled “Shelter in the 21st Century” that was broadcast at a major festival in Virginia. 88.5 KRFY aired the fifteen-minute broadcast this morning to share Becky’s vision and expertise with its listeners.

Save the date for KRFY's Little Live Radio Hour in 2026

Our series of Little Live Radio Hour live concerts that we broadcast the third Tuesday of each month kicks off in 2026 on Tuesday, February 17. Be sure to save 7 p.m. to tune in to 88.5 FM for the live broadcast – or even better, come to listen in person. We’ll have details on the musicians and venue coming soon!

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
