KRFY Morning ShowTuesday, August 29: Join the hosts Phil Hough and Jim Healey as they talk with uber-hiker and author Jim Mellen about the recently released new edition of his “Trails of the Wild Cabinets” hiking guidebook. A second guest, Steve Garvan, will talk about the upcoming Historic Sandpoint Walking Tour. That’s at 8 a.m. here on 88.5 KRFY.

Wednesday, August 30: With the new school year starting up just next week, join Morning Show hosts Suzy Prez and Chris Bessler for their talk with Lake Pend Oreille School District superintendent Shawn Woodward and new chair of the board of trustees, Geraldine Lewis. Discussion will focus on the upcoming school year and district news. Tune in at 8 a.m., here on 88.5 KRFY.

Thursday, August 31: Join Morning Show hosts Jim Healey and Jack Peterson as they talk with SHS Glee Club members about the upcoming school year, at their 8 a.m. airtime.

Wednesday, August 16: Join Morning Show host Chris Bessler and his guest Trish Gannon, founder of the River Journal. They will remember and recall 25 years of the River Journal as it takes its final bow. Airtime is 8 a.m at 88.5 FM.

Thursday, August 17: Join Morning Show hosts Jim Healey and Jack Peterson, as they delve into local happenings and well-informed music. That’s at 8 a.m. on 88.5 KRFY, Panhandle Community Radio.

KRFY holiday spectacular live variety show

Celebrate the holidays. KRFY’s live radio show celebrating Christmas and the holidays is coming Friday, Dec 5, 7-9 p.m. at the Panida Theater. This variety show with all-local music, Christmas readings, skits and good humor has grown each year. You can tune in to 88.5 KRFY to hear the live broadcast – but even better, come share the warm holiday spirt and attend at the Panida. A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
