School trustee candidates, Cinco de Mayo, Viggo Mortensen art … all coming up

Here’s what is on tap for the KRFY Morning Show current affairs programs in the first week of May.

KRFY Morning ShowTuesday, May 2: Join 88.5 KRFY Morning Show hosts Phil Hough and Julie Kallemeyn. Their guest will be Teri Smith from Habitat for Humanity.  That’s at 8 a.m. on 88.5 KRFY.

Wednesday, May 3: In the second of three Morning Shows covering candidates for the Lake Pend Oreille School District board of trustees, hosts Suzy Prez and Chris Bessler will interview the Zone 3 trustee candidates, Lonnie Williams and Victoria Zeischegg. That’s at 8 a.m. on 88.5 KRFY community radio for north Idaho.

Thursday, May 4: Tune in to the Thursday edition of the KRFY Morning Show with hosts Jack Peterson and Jim Healey as they interview organizers of the upcoming Food For Our Children Cinco de Mayo fundraiser. A second interview will be with Festival at Sandpoint, executive director, Dyno Wahl.  Airtime is 8 a.m. on 88.5 KRFY community radio.

An extra interview is slated for Friday to discuss the Viggo Mortensen Art Auction, that kicks off May 6 with a reception event 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Syringa Cyclery, 518 Oak Street. Guests will be hosts of this fundraiser: Charles Mortensen from Syringa Cyclery, Wayne Pignolet from Team Autism and Jim Healey and Suzy Prez from KRFY. KRFY Morning Show topics dip into giving, Festival – and an eyewitness to history

Coming up on the 88.5 KRFY Morning show for the third week of April is talk with a spectrum of community activists. Here’s what is on tap:

IdahoGives2017Tuesday, April 25: Join Morning Show hosts Phil Hough and Julie Kallemeyn as first they talk with Britta Mireley and Dennison Webb about Idaho Gives Day, coming May 4 across the state with opportunities to give to a host of local nonprofit organizations. In a second segment, Phil and Julie will interview Rich Crettol and Jack Dyck from the Community Resource Center, about how their organization seeks to link people with needed social services. Airtime is 8 a.m.

TomCartyWednesday, April 26: Morning Show host Suzy Prez has a special program in store, with Waldorf eighth grade student and KRFY intern Tom Carty will be sharing his exclusive interview with Sue Vogelsinger, a local resident who worked in the administration of President John F. Kennedy in the years up to and sadly including his death. Airtime is 8 a.m.

WineFestivalThursday, April 27: Tune in to the Thursday edition of the KRFY Morning Show with hosts Jack Peterson and Jim Healey as they talk with Dyno Wahl, executive director of the Festival at Sandpoint, about the following night’s Wine Festival at the Bonner County fairgrounds – plus planning for the 2017 Festival music series coming in August.  That’s at 8 a.m. on 88.5 KRFY community radio.
