Trails, conflict and Thoreau take center stage in KRFY Morning Show topics

As always, there’s an array of interesting and entertaining topics coming up on the KRFY Morning show, for this week of July 10:

Tuesday, July 11: Join the Tuesday Morning Show hosts, Julie Kallemeyn and Phil Hough and their guest Todd Dunfield from North Idaho Centennial Trail Association. Airtime is 8 a.m., here on 88.5 KRFY.

Kenneth ClokeWednesday, July 12: Morning Show hosts Suzy Prez and Chris Bessler will interview Kenneth Cloke, a Hope resident, international mediator and founder of Mediators Beyond Borders. Ken will talk about his upcoming free public presentation, “A Conversation About Conflict,” and how we can constructively deal with conflict in these divided times. His presentation is Thursday, July 13, 5:30 p.m. at the Columbia Bank community room; it is co-sponsored by KRFY, and all are invited. Chasing ThoreauThursday, July 13: Join Morning Show hosts Jack Peterson and Jim Healey. Their guest will be local kayaking philosopher and author Jim Payne. They will be talking about his new book “Chasing Thoreau.” That’s at 8 a.m on here at 88.5 KRFY.

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
