Upcoming this week on the Morning Show

This week on the KRFY Morning Show, topics range from the visual arts to jazz, community housing needs to saving the planet. Here is what’s on tap:

KRFY Morning ShowTuesday, August 8:  Join the Tuesday Morning Show hosts Phil Hough and Jo Anne Rohyans. Their guests will be various local artists who will be participating in the upcoming Artist Studio Tour. That’s at 8 a.m. here on 88.5 KRFY.

Wednesday, August 9: Join Morning Show hosts Chris Bessler and Suzy Prez. Their guest will be Chris Bassett, director of the Bonner Community Housing Agency. They will be taking a look at the status of affordable housing in our community. Airtime is 8 a.m., here on 88.5 KRFY.

Thursday, August 10: Join Morning Show hosts Jim Healey and Jack Peterson. Their guest will be John Rohyans, host of the newest locally produced show on KRFY, Jazz Over Sandpoint. Tune in at  8 a.m to 88.5 KRFY, Panhandle Community Radio.

Friday, August 11: BONUS FRIDAY MORNING SHOW! Host Suzy Prez will talk with be Jean Gerth and Sparrow Ivy, organizers of the upcoming 350Sandpoint event called Saving Our Planet. Airtime is 8 a.m., right here at 88.5 KRFY.

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
