Environment, Refugees Top Upcoming Morning Show Interviews

Thursday, January 14th: Tune into 88.5 KRFY for the Thursday edition of the Morning Show with host Jack Peterson.  His guest will be Sandy Compton from the Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness organization. That’s at 8:00 a.m. on 88.5 FM, KRFY, listener supported community radio for north Idaho.

Coming Tuesday, January 19: The KRFY Morning Show delves into the most contentious of current local issues, with Sandpoint Mayor Shelby Rognstad and Bonner County Commissioner Glen Bailey in the studio for a discussion of the city and county resolutions on refugee resettlement. Airtime is at 8 a.m., at 88.5 FM. If you can’t tune into the airwaves, hear the live stream here on our website via the button at right; or come back that afternoon to hear the recording on our Podcast page.

KRFY Little Live Radio Hour with Little Wolf band

KRFY’s Little Live Radio Hour 2026 season kicks off in an all-new venue: The Hive! Coming up Tuesday, February 17, stellar local musicians Justin Landis and Josh Hedlund, aka Little Wolf, will play. Listen live on air at 88.5 FM or streaming right here starting at 7 p.m. – or better yet come catch it in person at The Hive, our town’s state-of-the-art music hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. and everyone’s invited to come early for some socializing. The Little Live Radio Hour is produced in partnership with The Hive and the Festival at Sandpoint.

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
