KRFY-Decision2014ArtWorkWEB-SMOn Tuesday, September 30, the KRFY Morning Show kicked off a special election series, Local Decision 2014. Each Tuesday at 8 a.m., right up to November 4 Election Day, hosts Suzy Prez and Chris Bessler will cover contested local races, as follows:

Host Suzy Prez aired a pair of bonus interviews at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30.  Her guests were Pend Oreille Arts Council Executive Director Debbie Love, plus KRFY broadcaster Jackie Henrion talked about her new show, Songs-Voices-Poems, that begins airing each Sunday at 7 p.m., beginning October 5.

Coming up for the Thursday, October 2 KRFY Morning Show,  join Jack Peterson as he welcomes Joe Zimmerman, summer intern with the Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness organization.  This interview is at 8 AM on 88.5 KRFY.

KRFY holiday spectacular live variety show

Celebrate the holidays. KRFY’s live radio show celebrating Christmas and the holidays is coming Friday, Dec 5, 7-9 p.m. at the Panida Theater. This variety show with all-local music, Christmas readings, skits and good humor has grown each year. You can tune in to 88.5 KRFY to hear the live broadcast – but even better, come share the warm holiday spirt and attend at the Panida. A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
