Joining host Chris Bessler, guests Clif Warren, former regional mobility manager and a prime mover for the SPOT bus; and Stephen Drinkard, grant writer and project manager for the Sandpoint Senior Center‘s new parking lot project discussed what makes some community projects flourish and others to stall.

Payton is attending the United Nations Climate Summit in Paris at the end of the month, joining an expected 50,000 others from around the globe.

Autumn Heats Up in the Mornings on KRFY

The Morning Show rolls into October with a kickoff of city election coverage, plus a visit with musicians and a talk with students in the Model United Nations program.

Next week: On Tuesday, October 6, hosts Chris and Suzy start a four-program series on the city elections coming in November, with the two Sandpoint mayor candidates Mose Dunkel and Shelby Rognstad both in the studio to address the issues in a moderated forum format. Other upcoming Tuesday shows will cover City Council races, the proposed Memorial Field 1 percent sales tax, and, on Election Day itself, a recap of the races, candidates and issues. Celebrate the holidays. KRFY’s live radio show celebrating Christmas and the holidays is coming Friday, Dec 5, 7-9 p.m. at the Panida Theater. This variety show with all-local music, Christmas readings, skits and good humor has grown each year. You can tune in to 88.5 KRFY to hear the live broadcast – but even better, come share the warm holiday spirt and attend at the Panida. A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
