David Barsamian of Alternative Radio in Sandpoint August 30th at Di Luna’s Cafe


Alternative Radio Director David Barsamian is northbound on August 28, 29 and 30th. He will be speaking in Moscow, Spokane, and Sandpoint  respectively.

Thursday, August 30, 2012, presentation begins at 7:30. Dinner Di Luna’s Café (207 Cedar Street in Sandpoint) to benefit for KRFY, Panhandle Community Radio, begins at 5:30 PM, reservations (required) by calling 208-263-0846

David Barsamian has altered the independent media landscape, both with his weekly radio show Alternative Radio-now in its 26th year-and with his books with Noam Chomsky, Eqbal Ahmad, Howard Zinn, Tariq Ali, Arundhati Roy and Edward Said.

His latest book features interviews with Richard Wolff, “Occupy the Economy: Challenging Capitalism.”

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
