L to R: Bethany Guzman, Emily Rankin, Betty Braker, Christine Moffitt, PhD., Aquatic Invasive Species Presentation Interview at KRFY Monday, June 23, 2014.

Jim Healey was in the studio on Monday morning to interview UofI collegiate members here in Sandpoint to raise awareness of the threat that invasive aquatic species pose to our Lake Pend Oreille. College professor Christine Moffitt, PhD. and her graduate & undergraduate student helpers are making a live presentation with slides, free to the public, at the Panida Little Theatre on Tuesday, June 24 at 7pm. They discussed the threats to our waters by a variety of transported species of vegetation and mollusks that have already been detected and have brought disastrous changes to Lake Tahoe in recent years..

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
