Morning Show Ends the Summer – On to Autumn

KRFY morning showFor the Tuesday, September 29, edition of the KRFY Morning Show, hosts Chris and Suzy talked with three of the organizers behind the coming Convoy of Hope ‘Day of Hope’ – the huge community outreach Oct. 3 at the Fairgrounds to support those in need. Speaking about the event, and the reasons behind it, were Eric Rust and Dale and Vicki Jeffries.

Upcoming: On Thursday, October 1, join KRFY Morning Show host Jack Peterson. His guests will be representatives from Cyclocross who will tell us about their upcoming fundraiser — CrosstoberFest 4. Tune in at 8:00 a.m. at 88.5 KRFY, listener supported community radio for north Idaho.

Next week: On Tuesday, October 6, hosts Chris and Suzy start a four-program series on the city elections coming in November, with the two Sandpoint mayor candidates Mose Dunkel and Shelby Rognstad both in the studio to address the issues in a moderated forum format. Other upcoming Tuesday shows will cover City Council races, the proposed Memorial Field 1 percent sales tax, and, on Election Day itself, a recap of the races, candidates and issues. Be sure to tune it, and get informed for this key city election! That’s each Tuesday at 8 a.m.

KRFY holiday spectacular live variety show

Celebrate the holidays. KRFY’s live radio show celebrating Christmas and the holidays is coming Friday, Dec 5, 7-9 p.m. at the Panida Theater. This variety show with all-local music, Christmas readings, skits and good humor has grown each year. You can tune in to 88.5 KRFY to hear the live broadcast – but even better, come share the warm holiday spirt and attend at the Panida. A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
