Recently in the KRFY studio for interviews, Morning Show hosts Suzy and Chris talked on March 18 with Panhandle Alliance For Education Executive Director Marcia Wilson about the group’s work to support education, and its Ready! For Kindergarten classes that aim to help young children get a good start in school. Earlier, on March 14, Suzy interviewed Ruth Klinginsmith of the Music Conservatory of Sandpoint about the conservatory’s work to bring musical and performing arts classes to local students.

Coming up on KRFY Morning Show: On Thursday, March 20, hosts Jack and Suzy will be talking with various representatives of Sandpoint’s soup kitchens about the meals they offer every week to the hungry – for free. Then on Tuesday, March 25, hosts Suzy and Chris will interview Lake Pend Oreille School District Superintendent Shawn Woodward about educational issues, particularly the new Common Core standards for students..

KRFY holiday spectacular live variety show

Celebrate the holidays. KRFY’s live radio show celebrating Christmas and the holidays is coming Friday, Dec 5, 7-9 p.m. at the Panida Theater. This variety show with all-local music, Christmas readings, skits and good humor has grown each year. You can tune in to 88.5 KRFY to hear the live broadcast – but even better, come share the warm holiday spirt and attend at the Panida. A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
