Coming up on KRFY: Upcoming on Friday March 14, at 8 a.m., Suzy Prez will be interviewing Ruth Klinginsmith of the Sandpoint Music Conservatory.

Tune in Monday morning, March 17th 8:00 AM, for an interview with host Suzy Prez and guest Sandy Compton who will talk about The Story Telling Company along with a discussion about writing and book publishing.

Next up on the Morning Show: It airs every Tuesday and Thursday at 8 a.m.! On March 18, hosts Suzy and Chris will talk with Panhandle Alliance For Education Executive Director Marcia Wilson about the Ready! For Kindergarten program; and on March 20 it will be hosts Jack and Chris talking with representatives from groups that provide weekly Sandpoint soup kitchens..

Studio news: Podcasts, stream and upcoming shows

Here are a few items of note from the KRFY studio!

Morning Show podcasts. We’re happy to announce that we are now archiving podcasts of our KRFY Morning Show! The Morning Show airs at 8 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday … but now, if you can’t catch it at that hour you can hear the show anytime by going to our new Podcasts page via the button in our menu bar above. You can either listen online, or download the podcasts to play on your computer, iPod or phone.

Where’s the live stream? If you’ve been unable to tune in here via our live web stream, our apologies. We’re having some technical difficulties but are working hard to get it back online.

Coming up on the Morning Show. Tune in at 8 a.m. this Tuesday, March 11, to join host Suzy Prez and special guest gardener, musician and chef extraordinaire Emily LeVine talk about the upcoming gardening season and share some end-of-winter soup recipes. At 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, join hosts Jack and Chris as they explore efforts to create affordable housing in Sandpoint, with Stephen Drinkard of the Bonner Community Housing Agency.

Bonus interview. Upcoming on Friday March 14, at 8 a.m., Suzy Prez will be interviewing Ruth Klinginsmith of the Sandpoint Music Conservatory.

KRFY Little Live Radio Hour with Little Wolf band

KRFY’s Little Live Radio Hour 2026 season kicks off in an all-new venue: The Hive! Coming up Tuesday, February 17, stellar local musicians Justin Landis and Josh Hedlund, aka Little Wolf, will play. Listen live on air at 88.5 FM or streaming right here starting at 7 p.m. – or better yet come catch it in person at The Hive, our town’s state-of-the-art music hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. and everyone’s invited to come early for some socializing. The Little Live Radio Hour is produced in partnership with The Hive and the Festival at Sandpoint.

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
