Upcoming Guests and Events on 88.5 KRFY, August 28 – August 30


The following guests and event will be coming to 88.5 KRFY on Tuesday, August 28, through Thursday, August 30. Tune in and tell a friend. Hear about the many good things that individuals and organizations are doing to improve the quality of life for all people in north Idaho.

Tuesday, August 28, at 9:00 am: Michele Murphree, organizer and volunteer of the Edible Schoolyard Garden Project, will update us on the garden over the summer. She will also bring three elementary school gardeners extraordinaire with her — Ronnie Korn, Katie Korn, and Tyler Korn. The students will share their experiences with the garden and what they have learned.

Wednesday, August 29, at 9:00 am: Mary Crowe Costello, executive director of the Rock Creek Alliance, and Jim Costello, outreach and media coordinator, will talk about the organization’s annual party at the Pend Oreille Winery from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 13, and other upcoming events.

Thursday, August 30, at 9:00 am: Becky Kemery, a longtime Sandpoint resident and national yurt expert, passed away on August 18. Her final creative contribution to the field of alternative architecture was produced three weeks before her death: an audio production entitled “Shelter in the 21st Century” that was broadcast at a major festival in Virginia. 88.5 KRFY will air the fifteen-minute broadcast and share Becky’s vision and expertise with listeners. .

Truck Mills in the Studio Thursday Morning for Interview to Promote Benefit Concert at Di Luna’s



We welcome Truck Mills, songwriter/musician, this morning around 11 AM. He will visit the KRFY studios to talk about his music, performing career and the creative process. Funds raised at the benefit concert at Di Luna’s on Friday evening, will go to the general operations funds for KRFY,  88.5 FM..

Save the date for KRFY's Little Live Radio Hour in 2026

Our series of Little Live Radio Hour live concerts that we broadcast the third Tuesday of each month kicks off in 2026 on Tuesday, February 17. Be sure to save 7 p.m. to tune in to 88.5 FM for the live broadcast – or even better, come to listen in person. We’ll have details on the musicians and venue coming soon!

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
