Guests on 88.5 KRFY

On Monday, March 26, Rob Wakeley, board member of Kinderhaven, talked about the group foster home for children here in Sandpoint. He also talked about April as “Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month.” He brought along his friend Thor, a cardboard cutout whom Rob takes with him wherever he goes. Thor is a reminder to everyone Rob meets that April is “Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month.”

On Tuesday, March 27, Zach Hagadone and John Reuter, editors and publishers of the Reader, talked about the closing down of the weekly newspaper with the next issue. They talked about their experiences in the eight years of publishing the Reader. The north Idaho community will miss the Reader. KRFY thanks Zach and John for their hard work and dedication over the past eight years of publishing the Reader. We wish them the best of luck in their future adventures.

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
