Hear the recent Sandpoint City Council Candidates’ Forum

On October 20, join us from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room at the Sandpoint Center, 414 Church St., for a forum focused on the three open Sandpoint City Council seats. Candidates include incumbents Joel Aispuro and Rick Howarth, and challengers Joshua Torrez (listed on the ballot as Torrez Joshua) and Joe Tate. Each will share their background, qualifications, and reasons for running, followed by city representatives discussing ballot measures and a session of moderated audience questions. The forum will be broadcast live on 88.5 FM and streamed right here at krfy.org, with a recording available afterward. Hosted by the Sandpoint Reader, KRFY Panhandle Community Radio, and SandpointOnline.com.

Saturday, May 3, 6-8 p.m.

After a brief update from Multi-District Fire Chief Jeff Armstrong, The District 1 delegation of Senator Jim Woodward and Representative Mark Sauter held a town hall on Saturday, May 3, at Sandpoint Community Hall, and gave analysis of the 2025 legislative session before taking questions from the audience.

Live tonight on 88.5 KRFY: Prop 1 debate

Proposition 1 debate tonight!Still weighing whether you are a yea or nay for Proposition 1, the open primaries and ranked-choice voting proposal that is on the Idaho ballot? Your best chance to get informed by both sides is TONIGHT, Nov. 1, at 6 p.m. when the Regeneration Calvary Chapel hosts a debate and panel discussion on Prop 1.

KRFY will air the debate live at 6 p.m. at 88.5 FM. Listen to the recording HERE.

Speaking in favor of Prop 1 will be Luke Mayville, co-founder of Reclaim Idaho, and local proponent Christie Wood.

Speaking opposed to Prop 1 will be state Sen. Scott Herndon and Michael Angiletta, co-founder of Secure Idaho Elections.

Bonner County’s chief election officer, County Clerk Michael Rosedale will also speak about potential impacts to county election administration.

KRFY holiday spectacular live variety show

Celebrate the holidays. KRFY’s live radio show celebrating Christmas and the holidays is coming Friday, Dec 5, 7-9 p.m. at the Panida Theater. This variety show with all-local music, Christmas readings, skits and good humor has grown each year. A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
