First-time Book Author Speaks about His Work

December 3 (Tuesday) at 9:00 a.m.,Doug Toland, local author and
adventurer, talked about his book “This Life’s Tempestuous Sea: Risks
Survived and Lessons Learned While Growing Up and Growing Older.” Doug spoke about his story of surviving, growing beyond
his earlier life’s tempestuous sea of confusion and fear of failure,
learning valuable life skills while an Alaskan resident for 25 years, and
how he eventually found his spiritual and emotional center..

Interviews on KRFY with Host Suzy Prez for the First Week of December


Monday, December 2nd  at 10:00 am, join us for a special interview with KRFY broadcaster, Jim Healey, as he shares stories and information about his recent journey on the  El Camino de Santiago, the pilgrims path, in northern Spain. Jim is also giving a public presentation about this exciting adventure at the east Bonner County Library on Tuesday night at 6:00 pm.

Wednesday, December 4th at 9:00 am, please join host Suzy Prez as she welcomes Sandpoint Waldorf Teacher, Jeanette Rinehart to the KRFY studio. They will discuss Waldorf education and  the Waldorf School’s upcoming Christmas Faire and Children’s Festival.

Friday, December 6th:

9:00 am, Rick Bass, an American writer and environmental activist along with Robyn King, Executive Director of the Yaak River Forest Council, will be in the studio to share about the ongoing important work of the Forest Council.

10:00 am, Britta Leader will be in the KRFY studio to talk about an upcoming community interprative dance performance..

Save the date for KRFY's Little Live Radio Hour in 2026

Our series of Little Live Radio Hour live concerts that we broadcast the third Tuesday of each month kicks off in 2026 on Tuesday, February 17. Be sure to save 7 p.m. to tune in to 88.5 FM for the live broadcast – or even better, come to listen in person. We’ll have details on the musicians and venue coming soon!

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
