This week’s Morning Show Interview Schedule, May 5th:


Tuesday, May 6th on the KRFY Morning Show at 8:00 AM, hosts Chris Bessler and Suzy Prez welcome Jim Mellon from the Pend Oreille Peddlers and Rebecca Holland from the City of Sandpoint Bike/Pedestrian committee. The conversation will center around upcoming Bike Week events along with Rules of the Road – bike safety requirements for all riders.

Also, an addition interview on Tuesday after the KRFY Morning Show at 9:00 AM, Suzy Prez will sit down with Phil Hough and Sandy Compton from Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness to talk about important upcoming events.

Thursday, May 8th on the KRFY Morning Show at 8:00 AM, join host Jack Peterson and representatives from the soon-to-be-open Sunday Supper Dinners To-Go Soup Kitchen. Find out about this additional food distribution service offered on Sundays.

Morning Show Guests – Week Ahead

Morning Show week of April 28-May 2:

Tuesday, April 29th on the KRFY Morning Show at 8 AM, join hosts Chris Bessler and Suzy Prez and their guests Karl Dye from the Bonner County Economic Development Corporation and Jeremy Grimm, planning director for the City of Sandpoint. They will be discussing the impact of Coldwater Creek closing on our community and possible plans to help the situation.

Thursday, May 1st at 8 AM join Jim Healey and Jack Peterson for another edition of the KRFY Morning Show. Their guest will be Rick Leader and Steve Holt telling us about the new disc golf course. Tuesday, April 15 at 8 a.m.: Join the KRFY Morning Show as hosts Chris Bessler and Suzy Prez welcome Linda Spagon and Barb Perusse from the Life Skills Center about the work of this little known nonprofit. Tune in.

Thursday, April 17 at 8 a.m. on the KRFY Morning Show: It’s spring, and that means time to plant that garden. Hosts Jack Peterson and Suzy Prez interview Michele Murphree from The Edible School Yard project.

Friday, April 18 at 8 a.m.: KRFY broadcaster Suzy Prez will be in the studio with representatives from the CHAFE 150 bike ride coming in June. KRFY Morning Show’s first week of interviews in the month of March:

Tuesday, March 4th, 8 am: Join Chris Bessler and Suzy Prez on the KRFY Morning Show  with their guests  David Keyes and Carolyn Lobsinger from the Bonner County Daily Bee. Let’s talk media and communication in our community.

In the studio Thursday morning discussing the role and features of our local historical society were (l. to r.): Bob Deubel, Morning Show hosts Jack Peterson and Jim Healey, Will Valentine.

Thursday, March 6th, 8 am: Jim Healey and Jack Peterson will have Will Valentine and Bob Deubel, a volunteer from the Bonner County Historical Society and Museum, on this week’s Thursday edition of the KRFY Morning Show discussing the goal of this valuable community resource.

Friday, March 7th, 8am: Join Jim Healey for a bonus KRFY interview. He will be sitting down to talk with a representative from Trout Unlimited and the important work this organization is doing in our community..

A note on KRFY funding

How has defunding and closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting affected KRFY? Our station is funded solely by listeners, supporters and underwriters and has never received funding from the CPB. But some syndicated shows KRFY airs will be affected. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters has prepared a statement on impacts of the CPB closure. Click to read it.
