Interviews on KRFY with Host Suzy Prez for the First Week of December


Monday, December 2nd  at 10:00 am, join us for a special interview with KRFY broadcaster, Jim Healey, as he shares stories and information about his recent journey on the  El Camino de Santiago, the pilgrims path, in northern Spain. Jim is also giving a public presentation about this exciting adventure at the east Bonner County Library on Tuesday night at 6:00 pm.

Wednesday, December 4th at 9:00 am, please join host Suzy Prez as she welcomes Sandpoint Waldorf Teacher, Jeanette Rinehart to the KRFY studio. They will discuss Waldorf education and  the Waldorf School’s upcoming Christmas Faire and Children’s Festival.

Friday, December 6th:

9:00 am, Rick Bass, an American writer and environmental activist along with Robyn King, Executive Director of the Yaak River Forest Council, will be in the studio to share about the ongoing important work of the Forest Council.

10:00 am, Britta Leader will be in the KRFY studio to talk about an upcoming community interprative dance performance..

In-Studio Musical Guests This Morning on KRFY Community Radio

Interviewer Jim Healey will be back in the studios of KRFY to bring you the following informative, live interview of local interest later this morning:


Today, November 29 (Friday) at 11:00 a.m.: The Shook Twins will be stopping by
the station to talk about their musical journey as well as two concerts on
Friday, November 29, at the Pearl Theater in Bonners Ferry and on Saturday,
November 30, at the Panida Theater in Sandpoint. Both concerts aim to help
local food banks. Anyone who brings at least five nonperishable food items
to the show will receive a limited edition autographed poster in return.
*Two free tickets to the Saturday night concert by the Shook Twins at the
Panida Theater will be given away during this Friday interview. So, tune in
and become a caller (265-2992) at the appropriate time..

6:00 p.m. at the East Bonner County Library (1407 W. Cedar Street in
Sandpoint). His Tuesday presentation is sponsored by 88.5 KRFY.


December 3 (Tuesday) at 9:00 a.m.: *Doug Toland, local author and
adventurer, will talk about his book *This Life’s Tempestuous Sea: Risks
Survived and Lessons Learned While Growing Up and Growing Older. *The back
cover of the books says, “This is his story about surviving, growing beyond
his earlier life’s tempestuous sea of confusion and fear of failure,
learning valuable life skills while an Alaskan resident for 25 years, and
eventually finding his spiritual and emotional center.”


December 3 (Tuesday) at 10:00 a.m.: *Karin Wedemeyer of the Music
Conservatory of Sandpoint will talk about the upcoming Student Serenade at
the Panida Theater on Thursday, December 5, at 7:00 p.m. Students will be
performing their work and included are the Shakespeare group, the Latin
scholars, the children choir, the youth orchestra and soloists. Karin will
also review the year and state some of the goals for the conservatory in
2014..

In-Studio Interview with Volunteers Representing Community’s Most Vulnerable


On Monday, November 11, at 9:00 a.m., Jim Healey was in the KRFY studios to interview Cherie Peak (Bonner/Boundary County Coordinator) and Rhonda Tate (5-yr. volunteer) from CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) about their organization and the upcoming fundraiser on Saturday, November 16. Many thanks for this informative interview as we all learned something about this important nonprofit organization that is making a difference in north Idaho..

We are announcing an upcoming event — an evening of friends, fun, food & music for a benefit fundraiser  for KRFY radio — Kathy Colton and the Reluctants, in concert at DiLuna’s Cafe, Sandpoint, on Saturday, November 16, 7:30 PM show time.

Enjoy an evening with Kathy Colton and the Reluctants, known for their “show no hesitation,” powerful, upbeat folk blues featuring sublime harmonies. Mark your calendar for this KRFY Benefit concert with this “kick down the door”

Alpine Ski Racing Program for the Community — an Interview with Suzy Prez

Friday, October 25: 9:00 AM, Suzy welcomed guests Shep Snow and Michael Boge, from  the Independent Alpine Ski Race Team of Sandpoint to the studio to discuss their unique program for mentoring and training young athletes  in the community. They talked about the organization, the goals and history of the program, and their upcoming event at  the Panida Theatre for a joint fundraising effort with the Alpine Shop with the showing of Warren Miller’s latest touring ski film, “Ticket to Ride,” at the Panida Theatre on Saturday, October 26 at 7 PM..
