Visiting Musicians In-Studio with Suzy Prez to Discuss Event at DiLunas This Evening

Thursday, October 10th at 3:30 pm: KRFY 88.5 FM studios welcomed the   Birds of Chicago, an internationaly-touring, American/Indie-fold act built around the musical team JT Nero and Allison Russell. This dynamic songwriting and multi-instumental duo  performed at DiLuna’s Thursday evening. Host Suzy Prez had a lively and music filled interview with this talented duo..

Wednesday, Oct. 16th, at 9:00 am:  Join host Suzy Prez with Scott Rulander to talk about Pend Oreille Peddlers. We will hear about the organization and upcoming events.

Wednesday, Oct. 16th, at 10:00 am: Eric Grace, Executive Director of the Kaniksu Land Trust, will be in the KRFY broadcast studio to talk about this organization and the important work they are doing in our community.

Friday, Oct. 18th, at 9:00 am: KRFY broadcaster Suzy Prez, welcomes Nancy Dooley and Brad Scott to the station to talk about the Idaho Conservation League and  an upcoming informational evening event. A priority topic of the interview: the disappearing Clark Fork river delta that affects us all on Lake Pend Oreille..

Tuesday, October 1, 9:00 am on KRFY 88.5 FM, Panhandle Community Radio, Suzy Prez had guests Charles Mortenson and Wayne Pignolet in the KRFY radio studio to talk about the upcoming cycling event, Crosstoberfest scheduled for October 5th.  This cycle cross race and beer fest is a fundraiser for Team Autism 24/7..

Tuesday, September 17th:
9:00 am: Emily LeVine was in the studio to continue the conversation with host Suzy Prez about all things growing, gardening and cooking along with an update on happenings at the Farmers Market at Sandpoint.


Wednesday, September 18th:
9:00 am: Host Suzy Prez welcomed guest Jackie Henrion who represents 100 Thousand Poets for Change, a global peace and sustainability initiative and an upcoming event sponsored by Lost Horse Press and 100 Thousand Poets for Change here in Sandpoint.


10:00 am: Tom Harvill, representing Habitat For Humanity was in the KRFY 88.5 studios to talk about the re-opening of the Restore and to bring us up to date on the work of Habitat For Humanity here in our community. They discussed the fund raising event, a golf tournament at Priest Lake Golf Course, this Friday, September 20, that should provide a fun gathering of supporters on a sunny day.

KRFY Interviews the Second Week of September 2013

Wednesday, September 11 at 9:00 AM: Nancy Dooley from the Idaho Conservation League (ICL) was in the studio with host Suzy Prez to talk about an upcoming fundrasing event and  ICL’s 40th year celebration.

 

Friday, September 13th at 9:00 AM: Host Suzy Prez welcomed Vicki Longhini from the Sandpoint Nordic Club. Vicki talked about the club, it’s fall fundraising calendar, the youth program and the upcoming ski season.

 

Friday, September 13th at 10:00 AM: Host Suzy Prez had a special musical guest, Barry Aiken, jazz pianist and instructor at North Idaho College in the studio to talk about a performance happening at the Pearl Theater in Bonners Ferry this Saturday evening, September 14. They discussed the fund raising event for this non-profit venue and the Latin flavors of Barry’s current band, NorthPoint, that will be performing at the Pearl..

Third Week of August Interviews on KRFY with Suzy Prez

Tuesday, August 20th

Karin Wedemeyer from the Sandpoint Music Institute

9:00 AM: Karin Wedemeyer from the Music Conservatory of Sandpoint wasl in the studio to talk wtih Suzy Prez about the range of music education at the Institute, and a new program for pre-school children.

10:00 AM: Host Suzy Prez was joined in the KRFY studio by Lake Pend Oreille Waterkeeper executive director, Shannon Willimason, and  program director, Kelsey Barssseur to update listeners on the local on-going programs to keep our lake pure. A special focus of this morning’s interview was the public meeting on Thursday, August 22 at 6:30 PM at the Hive on First Avenue to introduce a team from the film production group “Momenta,” who are documenting the communities that could be affected along the coal train routes that would bring significantly increased rail traffic and pollution from the transport of vast amounts of uncovered fossil fuels.

Wednesday, August 21st


9:00 AM: The Angles Over Sandpoint Foundation representative, Amy Flint, was in the studio with Suzy Prez talking about their “Back To School” backpack program. She informed interested families about the fast approaching deadline for registering by August 23. The Angels will be at the Farmin/Stidwell Elementary School passing out backpacks the following week to registered students and estimate the number at close to 850!

Thursday, August 22nd



9:00 AM: Rock Creek Alliance director, Mary Costello, and a board member, John Edwards, visited the KRFY studios Thursday morning to update us on their recent activities and their upcoming  annual party and meeting. the Public is invited to their Annual Meeting next Thursday, August 29, 5:00 -8:00 PM, at the Pend Oreillle Winery. Special musical entertainment by Wild Honey.

 


10:00 AM: Mike Coogan, representing Pappy Boington north Idaho detachment of the national Marine Corp League, was in the studio with Suzy Prez to talk about his organization and about the Medal of Honor Highway Bike Rally that will take place in Idaho this Saturday.
